North Star Routs Norfolk in Road Softball Sweep

NORFOLK – There are no breaks in the Lincoln North Star batting order.

That was evident Tuesday evening in Norfolk, as the Navigators saw eight different players get hits – including a 2-run homer from their number nine hitter – in a 9-1 5-inning win over the Panthers.

Norfolk had a golden opportunity to strike first, loading the bases. But an Emma Armbruster line drive with two outs was scooped up on a spectacular diving attempt by Halie Gibson to strand three runners.

From there, North Star took over, plating nine runs on 12 hits and winning their 10th straight.

North Star won the first half of the double-header, 6-3.

The Navigators are now 10-1 with a home match-up with Lincoln Pius X coming up on Thursday. Norfolk is now 2-9 and will try to bounce back on the road Tuesday against Lincoln Northeast.
