Scottsbluff’s Poynter Takes Class B, Aurora’s Badura Grabs Silver

COLUMBUS, Neb. – After finishing in the top two on Monday, Scottsbluff’s Shelby Poynter and Danica Badura of Aurora, played another strong round on Tuesday to take first and second at the Class B State Golf tournament in Columbus.

Poynter, who won the tournament, shot an 81 at Quail Run Golf Course in day two of state golf, to finish just 9-over par for the tournament.

The Huskie’s Badura, a sophomore shot an 83 Tuesday, finishing in second with an 11-over, 158 over two days.

Senior Kendra Placke of Seward took 3rd, shooting a 77, the best round of the day on Tuesday.

The second best score of the day belonged to someone quite familiar with the course in junior Aspen Luebbe of Columbus, who shot an 80. That combined for a score of 20-over par for the state tournament.

Omaha Duchesne took the team title by 30 strokes over Scottsbluff, who finished second. Duchesne had three players finish in the top 10.

Gering took third as a team with Columbus High taking fourth.
