Superior Edges Ravenna For First State Title

LINCOLN – Down seven heading into the fourth quarter, Superior used what got them to the title game to win, going back inside for the 42-39 win.

The Wildcats outscored Ravenna 15-5 in the final quarter, holding the Blue Jays to just 1-of-9 shooting from the field.

Ravenna had a chance to tie or win late, though. Down 41-39 inside of a minute to go, Megan Miigirl’s drive was blocked by Superior sophomore Kalynn Meyer. Ravenna’s inbounds pass was knocked back out off a Blue Jay player and Superior closed it out from there.

The Wildcat basketball team joins their volleyball counterparts in getting Superior High School their first ever state title.
