ORANGE, CA – The Wayne State College women’s basketball team will take an experienced group of three returning starters and nine letter winners to the west coast for three games in three days.
WSC is scheduled to open their 2017-18 campaign at the Division II CCA/Disney Tip-Off Classic in Anaheim, California between Friday, November 3 and Sunday, November 5.
The Wildcat women finished 27-3 overall and placed second in the NSIC South with a record of 16-6 last season. WSC was tabbed fourth overall and second in the NSIC South during the 2017 NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll released on October 25.
Senior center Paige Ballinger was selected as the Wayne State Player to Watch and the NSIC Preseason South Division Player of the Year for the second straight season.
Wayne State College will open the Classic on Friday with Young Harris College at 1:15 CT, followed by a Saturday 8:15 p.m. CT game with Azusa Pacific University and conclude the weekend with Wisconsin Parkside at 12:45 p.m. CT on Sunday.
The Wayne State College women’s basketball team will visit Nebraska-Kearney next Saturday, November 11 a 4 p.m. before also visiting Colorado Springs on Monday, November 13 at 4 p.m. The home opener for the Wildcat women is scheduled for Thursday, November 16 at 7 p.m. with Graceland University coming to town while the women will join the men for their conference opener on Monday, November 20 in Wayne as Augustana University will be at Rice. The women will tipoff at 6 p.m. with the Wildcat men to follow at 8 p.m.
