Wildcat Women Look To Extend Winning Streak, Men In search Of .500 NSIC Record

BEMIDJI/CROOKSTON, MN – Following a four-game home stretch, the Wayne State College women’s and men’s basketball teams will be on the road for two of the final three weekends during the regular season.

The Wayne State women have won four straight and are now 18-6 (12-4 NSIC) to sit second in the NSIC South while the men are 12-12 (7-9 NSIC) and are sixth in the south Division, but just three games back from third.

WSC will visit Bemidji State University on Friday, February 2 at 6/8 p.m. and travel to Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, February 3 at 4/6 p.m. Join Voice of the Wildcats, Aaron Scheffler on Big Red Country 104.9 and online at waynedailynews.com a part of the Wildcat Sports Network all weekend long for the call. The Bemidji State women are 4-16 (3-13 NSIC), eighth in the North while the men are 9-12 (6-10 NSIC), fourth in the North.

Entering the weekend with a Friday night game vs. Augustana, the Minnesota Crookston women are 6-14 (6-10 NSIC), seventh in the North while the Golden Eagle men are 8-14 (5-11 NSIC), sixth in the North.

Last weekend the Wildcat women picked up victories over St. Cloud State (84-56) and Minnesota Duluth (76-70) as the men suffered an 82-58 loss to SCSU and beat Duluth in overtime (88-86).
