WAYNE – The Wayne State College women’s rugby team continued their unbeaten streak this past weekend with two more wins.
WSC is now 11-0 on the year after defeating Kansas University, 66-0 and the University of Missouri, 74-0.
The high scoring affair matched last week’s 74-0 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City.
Founder and WSC rugby head coach, Darrin Barner said, “WSC is still holding onto that #1 ranking as the defending national champions, and striving for a 7th national title.”
It was also a special weekend as the two wins accounted for a 95-5 record over the past 100 games.
Fans will get to enjoy Wildcat rugby this Saturday, October 7 from the “House of Pain in Wayne” at the Wayne Rugby Park on East 4th Street. The Wildcat women will face South Dakota State University at 3 p.m. with the men to follow taking on Creighton University at 4:30 p.m.
