Immigration Warning for Thousands in Nebraska

UNITED STATES – A warning today for several thousand Africans living in Nebraska: your immigration status is in jeopardy.

Federal officials are ending the temporary protection program for people from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone because the spread of the Ebola virus has dropped.

Job protection ends May 21.

Census estimates put the number of Africans in Nebraska at 20,000. Fifteen hundred in Lexington alone.
