SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A farm shed fire near Minatare Tuesday morning destroyed about $100,000 worth of property.

The Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department responded to the structure fire near Lake Minatare Rd. at around noon on Tuesday, to find a farm shed, belonging to Todd Carrier, engulfed in flames, Chief Paul Reisig said.

Fire Chief Paul Resig said five fire trucks spent about two and half hours and 10,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire. The Minatare Melbeta Fire Department assisted at the scene, shuttling water over six miles from the nearest tanker.

No one was inside the shed at the time of the fire. A pickup truck, tractor, and other farming equipment were destroyed by the flames.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal estimated the damages at approximately $100,000.

The Fire Marshal is investigating three potential causes of the fire.
