Judge Jails Blue Springs Man, in Serious Assault Case
BEATRICE - A Blue Springs man has been denied probation, after a Gage County District Judge noted the physical injuries suffered by a victim of the defendant's assault.
37-year-old Roy Forney was sentenced Wednesday to 90 days in county jail for disturbing the peace and driving under suspension….and a consecutive one-year jail term for 3rd degree domestic assault. A plea agreement resulted in dismissal of a terroristic threat charge.
Judge Rick Schreiner detailed the physical injuries in an assault by Forney, described by the victim in the pre-sentence report.

The state did not oppose probation, if there was a no contact order protecting the victim. Chief Deputy Gage County Attorney Amanda Spracklen-Hogan said Forney has shown a pattern of abuse with women.
Information contained in an arrest affidavit indicate the victim's injuries happened last July 6th and 7th…and July 28th and 29th.
The judge noted Forney had a seventeen-year criminal record, mostly substance abuse-related.
