PIERCE, NE - Pierce County was struck by severe weather briefly Tuesday morning, resulting in hail damage across the county.

There were 71 hail reports with hail sizes ranging from 0.75 inches to 3.00 inches.

The hail in Pierce reportedly covered the ground and stripped leaves from the trees.

Gary Malishewski, owner of EM Motor Company in Pierce, was a victim of the hail storm saying, "We got 45 vehicles here and almost all of them have some kind of damage. We'll get an adjuster in here and have him look things over and probably have a hail sale." Malishewski says the hail was about the size of marbles and ping pong balls.

All throughout Pierce the storm and hail left behind leaves and small branches scattered along the street. Malishewski says, "its kind of unusual. It come close here but we have been very fortunate, except for today.”

Thurston and Stanton also had reports of hail.
