Zoe Mintz

I currently attend Indiana University in Bloomington with an atmospheric science major and math minor, starting my senior year in the fall. My love for meteorology has exponentially increased since going to college, but the weather has fascinated me ever since I was a child. Growing up in Chicago, I have never seen a tornado in real life (not a tornado hot spot like Nebraska). I remember seeing a funnel cloud forming late one afternoon which forever sparked my curiosity in the weather and the natural world around me. I have always enjoyed public speaking, and combined with my love for math and science, becoming a broadcast meteorologist has always been my dream. I am so excited for the opportunity to work for NCN this summer and continue to develop my broadcasting skills and on-air presence.
Besides the weather, my other passion in life is traveling. During the spring semester of 2019, I studied abroad for four months in Copenhagen, Denmark, learning about climate change and how to save the Earth. It was an amazing experience learning from professionals on the weekdays about what I love while being able to travel around Europe on the weekends. I had the opportunity to travel to more than 10 countries while abroad. I hope to continue my adventures in the years to come, with the top places I want to visit being Thailand, New Zealand, and Dubai.
