BEATRICE – Beatrice Officers made some early morning arrests that turned up a stolen gun.


Chief of Police Bruce Lang says it began with a traffic stop at around two a.m. An officer stopped a vehicle traveling through the community that had a headlight out.


Lang says the investigation revealed that two of the people were in possession of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen handgun. The suspects are from Wichita, Kansas and the gun was reported stolen, there.


Lang says the persons in the vehicle were on their way to Omaha. Arrested were 20-year-old Marcus Lamar, 18-year-old Pierce Jackson and 18-year-old Pedro Gutierrez. Lamar and Jackson are convicted felons.


The arrests were made without incident. Appearance bonds have been set in Gage County Court at $7,500 each, for Lamar and Jackson….and at $5,000 for Gutierrez. All three face court hearings, August 8th.
