Nebraska’s only hospital dedicated to full-service pediatric care is celebrating its next major building boom.

Today Children’s Hospital in Omaha is showcasing construction of the Hubbard Center for Children, which will nearly double the hospital’s size allowing for new units devoted to heart care, cancer and blood disorders.

In addition Children’s is adding 100 patient beds, expanding its newborn intensive care unit, radiology and emergency departments.

A new rooftop helipad is also planned for the nine-story, state-of-the-art facility.

The 50 million dollar center is scheduled to open in 2021.
