Southeast Community College Holds Ag Day, at Beatrice Campus

BEATRICE – Secondary school students from the region were fanning out across the campus of Southeast Community College in Beatrice Tuesday, on Ag Day.
The event gives the community college the chance to show what’s offered in agriculture education at the school, and meet prospective students interested in agriculture careers. Over twenty area schools and upwards of two-hundred students are participating.
Students gathered at the Truman Center, dividing into groups led by SCC student ambassadors. Rachel Kreikemeier, an Admissions Representative for SCC says opportunities in agriculture are growing with the sophistication of the industry.
Demonstrations and hands-on activities were being offered to the students, along with opportunities to view new facility additions to the Beatrice Campus, such as Homestead Hall and a new full-service dining facility.
