Wahoo tops Syracuse to win conference tournament crown
The Wahoo volleyball team, ranked No. 2 in Class C-1, cruised to a Nebraska Capitol Conference Championship over Syracuse Saturday in Fort Calhoun, 25-12, 25-16, 25-17 (3-0).

FORT CALHOUN - The Wahoo volleyball team, ranked No. 2 in Class C-1, cruised to a Nebraska Capitol Conference Championship over Syracuse Saturday in Fort Calhoun, 25-12, 25-16, 25-17 (3-0).
It's the final season the Warriors will compete in the NCC Conference. Next year, they'll join Beatrice, Nebraska City, Plattview, Plattsmouth and Ralston in the new Trailblazer Conference.
The No. 6 Rockets drop to 20-2 on the season and will have a rematch with the Warriors in the Arlington Triangular on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. between Arlington and Syracuse, followed by Syracuse vs. Wahoo, and Arlington vs Wahoo.
The triangular will be the final matches of the regular season for Syracuse before competing in the C1-6 Subdistrict beginning next Monday at Norris High School. Postseason brackets will be released Thursday.
In the third place match at the NCC Tournament, Platteview swept Ashland Greenwood, 29-27, 25-21, 25-14(3-0).
