Missouri River bridge at Rulo opens early Friday

RULO - For the first time in 230 days, all three Missouri River bridges in southeast Nebraska are open at the same time.
Nebraska State Senator Julie Slama announced early Friday the bridge at Rulo is now open.
Flooding in the middle of March prompted bridges in Nebraska City, Brownville and Rulo to close because of damage or water from the Missouri River covering nearby roadways.
The bridge at Nebraska City opened in the early fall, but there are lane restrictions on Highway 2 as road crews continue with repairs and bridge construction.
On Oct. 18, the Highway 136 bridge at Brownville opened for the first time in 216 days.
"These bridges are lifelines for our region," Slama said in a statement. "This is a huge step forward in our recovery."
A flood warning continues for the Missouri River until further notice, affecting southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri. The river is currently 2.1 feet above flood stage and is expected to remain above flood stage through next week.
