WISNER - It certainly didn't come easily, but Ponca won a battle against Wisner-Pilger Tuesday in the Shoot-Out on the Elkhorn.

Both teams with blow-for-blow in the first half, as the score was knotted up 23-23 after the first two quarters. The Gators put a run together early in the third quarter to build out a six point lead, but Ponca came storming back to ultimately outscore Wisner-Pilger 22-15 in the period.

Overall Ponca would outscore Wisner-Pilger 39-26 in the second half, coming away with a 62-49 win to avenge last year's loss to the Gators in the Shoot-Out on the Elkhorn. Carter Kingsbury had 22 points to lead the way for the Indians, while the Gators were paced by senior Colby Heller with 18.
