COLUMBUS - Fresh in his new role as the university's president, Ted Carter will be paying a visit to Columbus.

The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that Carter will be the speaker at its annual chamber celebration.

It happens on March 12 at Ag Park and it celebrates the chamber's accomplishments over the past year.

Carter became the eighth president of the University of Nebraska system earlier this month following a national search.

Before that, he served as the U.S. Naval Academy's superintendent in Annapolis, Maryland from 2014 to 2019.
