Joshua Keadle Asks For New Trial

BEATRICE - A Nebraska man convicted of second-degree murder just one week ago is asking for a new trial.
According to court documents, Joshua Keadle and his lawyer filed the motion Wednesday saying the trial was unfair.
Keadle and his lawyer cite six reasons for a new trial which include, among others, irregularities in court proceedings, misconduct of the jury, attorneys or witnesses. They also say the verdict is not sustained by sufficient evidence or is contrary to law, that there's newly discovered evidence that couldn't have been produced at trial, and error of law.
Keadle was convicted of killing Peru State student Tyler Thomas. Thomas disappeared in December of 2010, after leaving an on-campus party. Her body was never found.
The motion for new trial will be heard on April 29th.
