Platte County Election Commission encouraging early ballot voting

COLUMBUS - The Platte County Election Commission wants to reduce how many people show up to vote in person.
Commissioner Connie Sebourn is encouraging in everyone Platte County to apply for early voting ballots. She said people can still vote at the polls on May 12, but that because of the coronavirus, they strongly prefer folks to mail in their ballots instead of having people who are potentially sick going in and voting.
“You’re more likely to have other people that have compromised health systems in the courthouse as workers and as voters pick it up and get sick," Sebourn said. "We do not want anybody to get so sick that we have people dying because they’re coming to vote at Election Day.
You can apply for an early voting ballot through May 1st. To get the application online, visit: https://plattecounty.net/pdfs/election/early_ballot_request_form.pdf
