An inmate at the Nebraska State Penitentiary has died.

LINCOLN - An inmate at the Nebraska State Penitentiary has died.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says Wednesday that 27-year-old Jackson Hedrick died at a hospital around 8 o'clock.
He was incarcerated at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
Officials say Hedrick’s sentence started in 2015.
He was serving a 20 to 30 year sentence out of Lancaster County for first degree sexual assault of a minor.
The cause of death has not been determined.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the NDCS, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
