NORTH PLATTE, Neb. The North Platte Police Department arrested a 26-year-old female near Philip and Dewey Friday morning.

Police had been searching for Karen Currie due to her involvment from an earlier disturbance. They were also aware she was driving on a revoked license.

An officer spotted Currie and initiated a traffic stop but Currie fled to a home near the 800 block of South Chestnut. She pulled into the garage and shut the door.

Police were able to secure the outside of the home but Currie refused to exit.

After obtaining a search warrant they entered the house. Curry physically resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody with no injuries to officers or herself.

Police found marijuana, cocaine and other items associated with narcotics.

Currie was arrested for 3rd Degree Assault, Driving Under Revocation, Resisting Arrest and Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest.

Officers also located 21-year-old Brody Witte in the home who had active Lincoln County Warrants. Witte was taken into custody without incident.
