If every Nebraskan who is asking for an early ballot actually votes, the state is looking at a record primary turnout.
Secretary of State Bob Evnen tells News Channel Nebraska that so far election officials across the state have received nearly 316,000 early ballot requests, 3,000 more than the current record which was set in 2016 when 313,000 ballots were cast statewide.
Evnen adds that with the May 12th primary still four weeks away, there's plenty of time for more early votes not to mention those who will vote in person.
