Village of Adams Has Big Plans for Town's Park

BEATRICE – Gage County is chipping in a $1,000 grant to assist the town of Adams in an extensive park renovation project.
The county board approved the park and recreation improvement grant Wednesday, part of a program created by Supervisor Matt Bauman.
"That is just why this is here, is to help be a part of these community programs and to in some smaller communities that have less funding, maybe stimulate a project and help with the financial assistance"
The county government park grants have a maximum of $1,000, each.
Called the Growing Adams Park Project, the plan is to use several sources of private and public funding to renovate the town’s park with two full-sized baseball and softball fields, a batting cage, sidewalks, ADA restrooms, a concession stand, picnic benches, improved drainage and parking area.
The planned starting date of the project is next month, with completion in June of 2022.
The town plans to combine Village of Adams funding, donations to the Adams Community Foundation, State Civic and Community Center Financing and Federal Land and Water Fund support in a project that is estimated at nearly $800,000.
