Platte County Election Commission: 'Record' number of absentee ballots cast
The Platte County Election Commission provided some numbers for Tuesday's primary.

PLATTE COUNTY - The Platte County Election Commission said voter turnout for Tuesday's primary was around 39 percent.
Election commissioner Connie Sebourn said is a little higher for primaries compared to previous years.
Sebourn said voters submitted a total of 7,804 ballots and that 5,980 -- around 76 percent -- of those were absentee, which she said is a record.
The election commission said of the voters who submitted ballots, 5,700 of them were registered Republicans, 1,522 Democrats and 26 were Libertarians. It said 556 came from non-partisan voters, which include the Green Party and Independents.
