COLUMBUS, NE — Police are investigating an accident in Columbus this afternoon.

Authorities responded to a two-vehicle crash around 2:00 at the intersection of 25th Avenue and 10th Street.  A witness says a southbound car and an eastbound car collided in the intersection.

An ambulance was on scene and the witness says one person was being treated.  Both vehicles suffered serious damage.  Traffic was blocked off in the area for more than 45 minutes.

The accident is still being investigated and we’ll share more information when it becomes available.
