SCOTTSBLUFF - A 61-year-old Morrill man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was driving left the road east of Scottsbluff, according to Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Mark Overman.

Overman says deputies and other first responders were sent to the South Beltline Highway near Highway 26 at 10:16 a.m. A police officer from Minatare was first on the scene and began providing CPR.

The injured motorcyclist, William J. Muhr, was transported to Regional West Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Another motorcyclist told officers he was riding with the victim and witnessed the accident. He said they were traveling east on the South Beltline when it appeared the other driver was traveling too fast around a curve and left the road to the right.

The Scottsbluff Rural Fire Department and Scottsbluff Police Department also responded to the scene.
