Drug charges against McCook man in Frontier County Court

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - 23-year-old Maxwell Allen of McCook faces seven felony drug charges in Frontier County. Friday he appeared before Judge Kent Turnbull in Frontier County Court in Stockville.
Count One of Seven was reduced by the County Attorney Jon Schroeder from a Class 1D felony to a Class 2A felony because the “amount of cocaine” in Allen’s possession was not as much as they had initially suspected.
Allen is out of the Frontier County Jail on a bond, and he is currently represented by a court-appointed attorney. He told the court he is hoping to secure private council before district court.
Currently there are no charges against Allen in the June 16th death of 22-year old NCTA college student and Lincoln native Jamie Spratlen. She was found dead at the home in Curtis when and where Allen was arrested on drug charges.
