CRETE, NE — Health officials say the coronavirus climate in southeast Nebraska has leveled off.

Public Health Solutions, which covers Jefferson, Fillmore, Gage, Saline and Thayer counties, announced that 24 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the district last week. That’s two people less than last week. This week’s positive test rate was 6.7 percent, a little under last week’s 8.2 percent.

The health department’s risk dial stayed at the low end of the yellow, moderate risk section. The risk dial is used by several school districts to determine the amount of restrictions they need to implement.
