SCOTTSBLUFF - Two drivers involved in an accident in Scottsbluff Tuesday afternoon were transported to Regional West Medical Center with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Scottsbluff police says a driver of a red 2001 Ford Escape lost control while traveling eastbound on Hwy. 26 at around 2:15 p.m. The driver over-corrected, causing a "fishtail" motion, making contact with a raised median between Avenue B and Avenue I.

The vehicle rolled and landed on its side, sliding into the westbound lane when a silver 2005 Toyota RAV4 crashed into the roof. The driver of the Escape became trapped.

Both vehicles are considered a total loss. Hwy. 26 reopened about an hour later.
