SIDNEY - Westbound Interstate 80 was reduced to one lane west of Sidney Monday evening due to a rollover accident near Exit 55.

The Nebraska State Patrol says strong winds caused the driver of the vehicle to overcorrect, causing the vehicle to roll into the median near mile marker 56. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.

NDOT says driving conditions on the interstate were considered "normal" at the time of the accident. Winds were gusting out of the northeast at 41 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
