Nebraska City - The Pioneers lost eight starting seniors from its 2019 squad, all of whom played together since they were ten years old. Kendyl Schmitz and Emilee Marth are the only two returning starters from last year’s team.

Head Coach Amy VonFeldt praised her players for working hard during the offseason, despite the complications COVID brought. Coach VonFeldt noted her players worked at fields by themselves to work on skills and to prepare for the season. She thinks her team has great chemistry and expects to see growth and a competitive season.

Falls City - The Tigers finished 13-14 last season, gaining confidence as the year went on. Five position players and two pitchers return from the 2019 Tigers, including letter winners in Kacy Brewer, Thayer Armbruster, Madison Jones, Elyse Poppe, Sara Black, Courtney Mcclintock, and Abby Harms.

Joe Dunn’s team is currently 4-10, facing a tough schedule to open the year. Coach Dunn still has great expectations for his team, looking for an above .500 finish and a trip to the District Finals.
