A pair of Omaha-area cities passed mask mandates on Monday, with Ralston and Gretna each approving measures that go into effect on Wednesday.
The Gretna City Council called a special meeting on Monday to consider a mask requirement. Within 15 minutes, the matter had passed. The mandate officially goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday.
Ralston, which had held an emergency board of health meeting last week, brought the potential measure in front of the City Council Monday night. After an hour of discussion, the order was passed. Ralston’s mask mandate will officially go into effect at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
