Officials in Sarpy County are re-upping their concerns over possible mismanagement of millions of taxpayer dollars.

Sarpy County Treasurer Brian Zuger is under fire for a long-list of problems noted in a recent report from the state auditor.

Those problems include a nearly $2 million discrepancy in county funds and a 2-week county paid family vacation in Hawaii by Zuger’s right-hand man.

According to several reports, Zuger says there is no missing money.

Instead he blames clerical errors, outdated computer systems and a general misunderstanding of how his office works.

While the state auditor investigates Zuger, the county board issued a statement this week noting its own investigation and the possibility that the board could remove Zuger from office depending on the results of the various probes into Zuger's handling of the office.
