Beatrice Public Schools officials announce schedule changes

BEATRICE - Beatrice Public Schools officials say as of Monday, the high school is returning to in-person instruction. The district's quarantine and isolation numbers are currently at 6% of the high school student population a decline from 11%.
School officials are also making a calendar change. The first semester will end on December 18. Beatrice Public Schools will not have students in session on December 21st and 22nd, in a move aimed at keeping all students and staff safe.
With updated Directed Health Measures, students are able to return to school early from their quarantine, after 7 days and a negative coronavirus test OR after 10 days of no symptoms.
In order for a student to return after 7 days and test out of quarantine, families will need to provide documentation which demonstrates that students have received a negative PCR or Antigen test on day 5, 6, or 7.
When students return to school they will be expected to monitor their symptoms closely for the entire 14-day period.
School officials also say students will plan to return in Tier II with mandatory mask usage on January 5, 2021.
The district will continue to move forward with in-person learning unless an unforeseen circumstance arises.
