McCook High School football head coach Jeff Gross announced is stepping down after 23 seasons with the team. During his time, he led the Bison to 22 Class B state playoff appearances, including two state titles in 2002 and 2003.

“After a great deal of reflection and discussion with my wife Diana and my children; Lexi and DJ, I have decided it is time for me to step down as Head Football Coach at McCook High School. It has been an amazing 23 years as head coach of the Bison,” Gross tweeted on Wednesday.

Gross final career record stands at 208-53, including a 38 game winning streak, the longest in Class B history.

He will continue his duties as principle at McCook High School.
