SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A Gering man was arraigned Wednesday on multiple charges after an incident that ended in an over two-hour standoff with law enforcement Monday evening.

Donovan Santos faces charges of Terroristic Threats and 3rd Degree Domestic Assault, the Scotts Bluff County Court said Wednesday.

Gering Police were called to 1020 Pappas Blvd in Gering at around 6 p.m. on Monday to reports of a domestic assault and Santos holding a gun he was allegedly prepared to use against himself and police officers if they arrived at the scene, according to an arrest affidavit.

By the time police arrived at the residence, Donovan Santos had locked himself inside the house alone and refused to come out, even as police tried to reach him for over two and a half hours. Police eventually pulled back from the perimeter.

Santos was arrested by a SWAT team Tuesday evening on charges of Terroristic Threats and 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

In an arraignment hearing at the Scotts Bluff County Court Wednesday, a judge set Santos’ bond at 10 percent of $25,000. Santos has been appointed a public defender, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 26th.
