Police arrest three men in Scotts Bluff County during sex trafficking investigation

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Two Scottsbluff men and a Gering man were arrested Friday in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.
James Gutierrez, 65, of Gering, was charged with two counts of sex trafficking and one count of 3rd degree sexual assault.
Jeffrey B. Calder, 60, of Scottsbluff, was charged with one count of sex trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a short shotgun.
Justin Kumm, 39, of Scottsbluff, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm.
In a press release sent on behalf of the Scotts Bluff County Attorney’s Office, Scottsbluff County Sheriff Mark Overman provided limited information about the investigation, stating only that police had arrested three individuals and executed four search warrants Friday.
Officers also seized numerous firearms, suspected methamphetamines, cell phones and other electronic storage devices, according to the press release.
The Scottsbluff Police Department, Gering Police Department, and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation.
The WING Task Force and Nebraska State Patrol assisted with the operation Friday.
The investigation is still ongoing, and agencies urge anyone with more information to reach out.
