Tractor Supply Company buying Orscheln

BEATRICE - Tractor Supply Company is acquiring Orscheln Farm and Home, a Farm and Ranch Retailer with 167 Stores in the Midwest.
Tractor Supply Company announced an all-cash transaction for approximately $297 million.
Orscheln Farm and Home operates 167 stores located in 11 states: Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio.
Hal Lawton, Tractor Supply’s President and Chief Executive Officer issued a statement calling it "an exciting step for Tractor Supply as we expand our footprint in the Midwest with the high-quality assets of Orscheln Farm and Home." He said the company has great respect for Barry Orscheln and the team at Orscheln Farm and Home for a strong connection with customers in the communities they serve, along with their industry knowledge and capabilities.

At the end of this past year, Tractor Supply Company operated 1,923 stores in 49 states. Both Tractor Supply and Orscheln's have stores in Beatrice.
