Gering City Council interviews two candidates for vacant ward seat

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Gering City Council finishes interviews with Chad Nelson and Cody Bohl as they are vying for a vacant city council seat. After the resignation of Parrish Abel the Ward IV seat became available.
“I’ve lived in Ward IV for the past eighteen years it’s a safe community it’s a safe area,” said Bohl. “You know just the reward being able to give back to my community that has given me so much over the years and kind of pay it forward.”
“I like to think that I’m a forward thinker and it’s my job to challenge people and get the best out of everybody that’s around me,” said Bohl. “I think on this council the ability to surround myself with great people that are involved already it’s a definite win.”
“I have some leadership experience with the National Guard,” said Nelson. “I also served on Bellevue Board I enjoy the interaction with the residents in the community and working to solve problems and come up with resolutions.”
“I also think that there are things that we can do that are low budget things and getting out talking to the the people in the community and listening to whatever struggles they have,” said Nelson. “Things just in their day to day life in their homes and in the neighborhoods that we could do as a council decisions that we can make that would benefit them and make their lives better here.”
Gering City Council said they will make a decision Monday March 8.
