One more round of snow leads to Winter Weather Advisory in Panhandle
SIDNEY, NE — Right when residents of the Nebraska Panhandle thought they were done with snow, Mother Nature sent another round of the stuff.
The National Weather Service has placed a majority of the Panhandle in a Winter Weather Advisory for Monday evening.
Cheyenne, Kimball Box Butte, Morrill, Banner Scotts Bluff and Southern Sioux counties are in the advisory until 9:00 p.m. Monday. Sheridan and Garden counties are in an advisory starting at 6:00 p.m. Monday through noon on Tuesday.
Officials with the NWS say the area could see 1-4 inches of new snowfall in the late afternoon and evening on Monday. Garden and Sheridan Counties may see 4-5 inches in some areas.
The new advisory comes as many in the Panhandle are working to dig themselves out of the blizzard that hit over the weekend where some towns, such as Kimball, received about a foot-and-a-half of snow.
