UPDATE: New Wyoming DOT estimates push I-80 opening to Wednesday

CHEYENNE, WY – Travelers waiting to head into Wyoming may have to wait even longer before getting on the road.
Tuesday afternoon, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) updated its website and social media accounts to say they are now estimating Interstate 80 will remain closed in the state into Wednesday.
"As of March 16 at 4:30 p.m., the estimated opening time is in 15 to 17 hours. Parking on the roadway is prohibited and delays opening the road," WYDOT posted on its closure map Tuesday afternoon.
I-80 remains closed in both directions in Wyoming from the Nebraska border to Rawlins, Wyo. I-80 eastbound is closed from the Utah Border to Rawlins, but the westbound lanes are open in the western part of Wyoming.
In Nebraska I-80 westbound is closed from the I-80/I-76 junction near Big Springs.
Progress was made on Interstate 25 in Colorado and Wyoming on Tuesday. I-25 is back open in Colorado and in Wyoming is open from the Colorado border to Casper, Wyo.
