Beatrice Six documentary debuts on Discovery Plus

BEATRICE, NE - A documentary covering Beatrice's highest-profile crime is now available to watch on a streaming service.
Discovery Plus debuted "The Beatrice Six: Keith Morrison Investigates" on Tuesday. The documentary is available to stream on the channel's app or website with a subscription.
The network provided a description of the documentary in a news release: "'Dateline' correspondent Keith Morrison looks at how the brutal 1985 murder of 68-year-old Helen Wilson rocked the small town of Beatrice, Nebraska. Four years after the murder, six people were convicted of the crime, but one of the six, Joseph White, fought for two decades to overturn his conviction and prove his innocence. When DNA evidence from the crime scene was finally tested, and a new investigation into the murder was opened, the results turned the whole case — and the town — upside down."
The documentary is one hour and 25 minutes long. Morrison narrates a story that follows the saga of the crime, convictions and eventual reversals in chronological fashion. He interviews more than a dozen people associated with the city and the investigation surrounding the crime. Interview subjects include Helen Wilson's grandson Shane Wilson, former defendant James Dean, former defendant Joseph White's mother Lois White and former Beatrice Police Investigator Tina Vath.
Discovery Plus launched in the U.S. in January. It offers a a $4.99 per month subscription including ads and a $6.99 per month subscription without ads. A seven-day free trial is available.
A film crew from HBO has also been in Beatrice. That network is also expected to release a Beatrice Six documentary but has not announced a release date.
