Authorities release names involved in fatal crash near Mitchell

Authorities have released the names of the two people killed Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover accident in the Nebraska panhandle.

MITCHELL, Neb. - Authorities have released the names of the two people killed Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover accident in the Nebraska panhandle.

The Nebraska State Patrol says Peggy Crowe, 62, and Jimmie Burnitt, 63, both of Guernsey, Wyo., passed away when they lost control of their flatbed pickup at mile marker 11 on Highway 26 west of Mitchell after 3 p.m.. The vehicle rolled and came to a rest in the eastbound lanes. Crowe and Burnitt were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell Rural Fire Department, Morrill Rural Fire Department and AirLink medical helicopter responded to the scene.
