Search continues for new Southeast Community College Beatrice Campus Director

BEATRICE – Southeast Community College has received substantial interest in a vacant campus director position.
SCC is working to fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Beatrice Campus Director Bob Morgan, who also served as Vice President of Program Development for the college.
SCC President Dr. Paul Illich updated the schools’ board on the search process Tuesday. "I can tell you this. It's wonderful that we've had twenty really quality applications. I think the committee has been very busy. They've conducted ten interviews."
Illich said second and third rounds of interviews will be taking place over the next couple of weeks."
The SCC President also told board officials that the college plans to acquire another private property next to its Milford Campus, for future planning. The acquisition involves purchase of a home, which college officials would rent out, until the property is needed for any future growth.
SCC Board members examined the college’s preliminary budget during a meeting in Falls City, Tuesday. SCC is hoping to maintain its total tax rate at 9.37 cents per hundred dollars of property valuation.
An overall property valuation increase of about 3% is projected, across the schools’ 15-county service area.
