NELIGH, Neb. -- Nebraska's longest-running drive-in movie theater is ending its run.

TK/Starlite announced the plans to close later this month. The Neligh business shared the sad news on Facebook.

 

They say many customers are not returning this year, and they're only seeing about half of the customers they would need to make ends meet.

Owners wanted to give people enough time to plan one last trip to the drive-in.

News Channel Nebraska was there in May for opening night. Managers told us back then that the pandemic caused problems for the business.

Starlite's last day will be July 17th.
