Alliance remains unbeaten at State Legion Baseball Tournament

CRETE, Neb. (KNEP) - The Alliance Senior Legion Baseball team is undefeated at the American Legion Class B Nebraska State Tournament.

The Spartans moved to 2-0 with an 8-2 win over Central City/Fullerton.

Alliance took the momentum early scoring two runs in the second inning to lead 2-0. That lead expanded to five after a three run fifth inning. Central City cut the lead to 5-1 going into the 7th, but any hopes of a comeback squashed in the 7th inning thanks to another three run 7th inning by Alliance.

Spartans got another strong day at the plate from Mario Garcia and Caeson Clarke. Both finishing 2 for 4 with 2 RBI in the win. Brantz Halouska also finished with 2 RBI in the contest.

Jakob Callan gave Alliance a strong day on the mound going 6 innings striking out 6 and giving up just 2 runs.

Alliance returns to action on Monday for third round action out in Crete.
