SIDNEY, NE — Several economic development professionals will descend on the panhandle for an annual conference this week.

The Nebraska Economic Development Association (NEDA) conference will be in Sidney Wednesday through Friday. Sidney Economic Development Director Kim Matthews says roughly 150 are expected to attend. 

Included on the agenda are tours of downtown Sidney and local businesses Agri-Plastics and Nexgen Outfitters. There are also events planned at locations throughout Sidney such as Hillside Golf Course and the Elks Lodge. 

Thursday, attendees will hear from a plethora of speakers, including several from Sidney. This includes former Sidney City Manger Gary Person, G.L. Huyett vice president of technology and marketing Sarah Sinnett, WNCC Community and Business Partnerships Executive Director Paula Abbott and Adams Industries Chief Financial Officer Josh Watchorn. 

Former state senator Greg Adams and Interim WNCC President John Marrin are also set to address conference attendees. 

NEDA will also hold its awards banquet at this event where it will name its Professionals of the Year.
