KIMBALL - There won't be Friday night lights at the Kimball High School football field this fall.

Head Coach Ben Aarestad told News Channel Nebraska Tuesday afternoon, they've forfeited the entire 2021 season, because of low roster numbers.

Aarestad, who was set to begin his fifth season with the Longhorns, says they had nine kids go out for football this season.

Kimball had already forfeit their first two games of the season - at Hitchcock County and at Leyton - before this week's announcement. They were scheduled to have their home opener this Friday vs. Morrill.
