Firefighters were dispatched to the facility between seven and seven-30 Friday morning. A second call was made for additional firefighters.  A company spokesman says no one was injured in the fire.

Few other details were made available.  Firefighters were still on scene as of nine a.m.

The plant began operations in October of 2007.  According to the company’s website, in addition to ethanol, the E Energy Adams facility produces both modified wet and dry distillers grain sold to local and regional markets.

It’s served by Burlington Northern-Sante Fe trains.   The plant operates 24 hours a day, year-round.
